The Passion & Expertise Behind Causeway Minerals
A Lifelong Journey in Mineralogy
Hi, I’m Trevor Boyd. Based in Northern Ireland alongside my wife Andrea (our resident banking expert!), our three wonderful children, and our dog Amber, my relationship with fine minerals spans more than four decades.
What began as a local passion—field-collecting zeolite specimens directly from the renowned Antrim Basalt Formation—grew to encompass rare minerals across the entire island of Ireland. Over the years, that regional expertise expanded globally, leading to a deep focus on iconic world-class localities like the Tsumeb and Ojuela mines, as well as fine wulfenite specimens.

Irish Zeolites
Volcanic Treasures from Ireland’s Rugged Coastlines
Zeolites are rare, strikingly beautiful crystalline minerals formed deep within ancient volcanic rock over millions of years. Native to the dramatic basalt formations of Northern Ireland's coastlines, these specimens hold a special place in our collection. As self-collected regional specialties, our Irish zeolites feature delicate crystal clusters and exceptional luster that make them highly sought after by discerning mineral collectors across the globe.
Key Highlights: Locally self-collected, rich geological heritage, rare crystal formations.
Fluorescent Minerals
Natural Wonders Brought to Life Under UV Light
Step into a captivating dimension of mineral collecting with natural fluorescence. Certain mineral species possess trace activator elements that respond to specific ultraviolet wavelengths, absorbing invisible UV radiation and re-emitting it as vivid, glowing visible light. Beyond their scientific intrigue, fluorescent minerals offer stunning contrast and dramatic visual impact, making them a captivating centerpiece for any modern display collection.
Key Highlights: Striking visual transformation, fascinating optical physics, perfect for display cases.
